夏日香氣

林徽音 (Lin Huiyin), who was a female poet, wrote this poem for her beloved, 徐志摩(Xu Zhimo), who was also a famous poet in China. The following is my translation of that poem. Please enjoy reading it.

You Are April of Our World

Ode to Love

I say you are the April of this world,
Your laughter lights up all the winds, so softly,
That changing with the spring sparkle dancing.

You are the clouds and mist in the early spring,
The dusk wind blows gently; the stars are
Flickering involuntarily, slight raindrops sprinkle upon the petals.

So tender; so graceful, you are, newly pretty
Crowned with garlands you wear, you are
So innocent; so majestic, you are the full moon over each night.

That light yellow accompanies with the melted snow, you are like, fresh
Budding green, you are, the delicate, fragile joy.
The white lotus of your dream waiting, waving and floating in the water light.

You are the blooming flowers tree after tree, the swallow
Twittering between the beams; － the love, the warmth,
The hope, the April of our world.

笑響點亮了四面風；輕靈

你是四月早天裡的雲煙，

那輕，那娉婷，你是，鮮妍。
百花的冠冕你戴著，你是
天真，莊嚴，你是夜夜的月圓。

雪化後那片鵝黃，你像；新鮮
初放芽的綠，你是；柔嫩喜悅
水光浮動著你夢期待中白蓮。

你是一樹一樹的花開，是燕
在樑間呢喃，－你是愛，是暖，
是希望，你是人間的四月天！
