合縁機縁

一本の大きいガジュマルの木が、道の脇にぽつんと立っていました。夏になると、周りにたくさんの実を落とします。たくさんの雀たちが集まってきて、その実を食べていました。種は食べても消化されずに、ふんと一緒に排泄されます。多くの種はそのまま塀の片隅に捨て置かれました。

やがて、一つの種が芽生えました。通りすがりの人たちが驚きました。なぜなら、誰も面倒を見なくても、立派に成長していたからです。

１人の通りすがりの人がそれを掘り起こして、小さい鉢に植えました。その鉢を自分の居間で、優しく世話しました。

ある日、この人が引っ越しすることになり、その木を鉢から新しい家の庭に植え替えました。

ガジュマルは、成長が早いと言われています。数年で、立派な大木になりました。夏になると、たくさんの実を地面に落とします。通りかかった人たちがその木陰で一休みしていました。

この日、たくさんの雀たちが飛んできて、この木の枝の上で巣を作りました。そして、ガジュマルの実を食糧にして暮らしています。

Chances and Destiny

A luxurious Banyan tree sprawled silently by the wayside. In the summer, the seeds spill earthbound. Many sparrows flock and feast on the fallen seeds.People say seeds are intact even after being eaten.Sparrows deposit the seeds on street corners or cracks nearby where they perch.

Later a seed sprouted. Passers-by are amazed that the fallen seed,so abandoned can grow so elegantly?

One passers-by dug it up and replanted it in a small pot.The pot had its pride of place in the living room and was tenderly cared for.

One day the passer-by transplanted it to a new home in his own backyard.

Banyan trees spread like wild fire. Years later, this plant prospered too. In summer, seeds spill earthbound and passers-by seek solace in its shadows.

Now noisy sparrows nestle in its boughs. They flock and feast on the fallen seeds.

機緣

路邊一棵大榕樹, 夏天種子掉了滿地, 許多麻雀飛來撿拾當作食物。聽說吃進肚子之後, 拉出來種子還在。許多麻雀停在牆邊隙縫時, 就順便把種子拉在牆角。

不久, 其中一顆種子發芽。一些路人經過, 嘖嘖稱奇。因為牆角裂縫處, 無人照料, 竟然可以長得如此不愧天地。

其中一個路人把它挖出來, 重新種植在盆子裡。盆子就放在家裡的客廳, 當作盆栽欣賞,
悉心照料。

一天, 路人搬家, 也把長成小榕樹的盆栽帶到新屋, 重新種植在新屋的院子裡。

榕樹成長速度非常的快, 多年後已經變成大樹。夏天, 種子掉了滿地, 許多路人在樹下乘涼。

這天, 麻雀們紛紛來榕樹上築巢, 並且撿拾樹下的種子來吃。
