夏日香氣

The following two stanzas are quoted from a Chinese poem written by 夏宇. I tried to translate it into English.

"According to the fairytale," he said.
"You shouldn't be such a
lady who likes to debate sensibly."
Wading,
We are walking through the stormy city now.
The wall of the city suddenly
Collapsed.
"But I have never been
so tender before."
I said.
There was a rubber yacht showing up nearby....

"Does a person become braver
while believing or
not believing? "

"According to the fairytale," he said,
"You shouldn't get old,...you can't get
old, so I think
I owe
a favor,...."
"to the fairytale?"
"No, to you."

　　　「根據童話，」他說
　　　「妳不應該是一個如此
　　　　敏於辯駁的女子。」
　　　涉水
　　　我們正走過暴雨中的城市
　　　城牆轟然
　　　塌毀
　　　「可是我已經
　　　　前所未有的溫柔了。」
　　　我說
　　　遠處似乎有橡皮艇出沒......

「一個人在相信的時候
　　　　比較勇敢　還是
　　　　不相信的時候？」


　　　「根據童話，」他說
　　　「妳不應該老－－不可能
　　　　老，我覺得，
　　　　有所，
　　　　虧欠......」
　　　「對童話？」
　　　「對你。」
