悟りを開くのに、最も強力な経験の一つは、我々が神の力に身を任せ、それに屈服することです。まるで仮死状態のようにただ待ち続け、期待や要求も持つべきではありません。 ……それでも、私たちがこれらの懸念を一旦停止し、真の主導権を授かると、次のような逆説的な真実を発見します。自由は深い関与から生まれ、独立は私たちが相互に依存していることを受け入れることから生まれ、理解は理解しようという試みを手放すことから生じます。 （p.137、138）

The Paradoxical Truth

 

"One of the most powerful experiences of initiation comes when we surrender--when we allow ourselves to let go to Divine Power, and simply wait, as if in suspended animation, with no expectations or demands."....."And yet when we suspend these concerns and let ourselves undergo genuine initiaiton, we discover the paradoxical truth that freedom comes from commitment, that independence comes from an acceptance of our interdependence, and that understanding comes from letting go of our attempts to understnd." 自相矛盾的真理

 

啟蒙最有力的體驗之一就是當我們臣服，依靠上帝力量的時候。單純地等待，像是一個假死的狀態，沒有任何的期待或要求。...... 但是，當我們把這些在乎的事擱在一旁，真正的由自己做主時，我們會發現一些自相矛盾的真理，亦即自由是來自承諾，獨立恰好來自於對相互依存的接受度，而理解來自於我們放手那些努力嘗試了解的事。( p.137, 138 )
