( 前回の投稿から続く)

この旅人がこの花から去っていった後、
花の持ち主は徐々に自分の人生に退屈さを感じてきました。

彼は花を怒らせることを恐れていたので、
いくつかの言葉をこの花に言わずに、
その代わりに他の花に言うしかありませんでした。
それか自分でぶつぶつ独り言を言っていました。

この花はどこにも行くことができませんでした。
一方で、花の持ち主は、もともと旅行が好きな人なので、
彼は冒険の旅をし始めました。

そして、彼は旅行の間に、自宅の花に水をやることをすっかり忘れてしまいました。
この花は毎日少しずつ萎れていき、命が枯れ果てようとしていました。

この花が萎れる直前に、前に去っていった旅人はこの花を見たくなって、
戻ってきて、花のそばに近寄りました。

彼は死んでしまったかのような花を見て、悩み、非常に悲しい気持ちになりました。
でも、花が萎れることは自然なことでした。
誰も助けることはできませんでした。

この旅人はただ花のそばにいたいと思いました。
毎日、彼は花の死ぬ日がやってくるのを見守りながら待ちました。

人生はそのようではありませんか。
大切にしていたとしても、
終点へ行かないわけにはいかないのでしょう。
すべての良いものが終わりになるはずです。
それだけです。

The Flower on the Cliff (III)

( continued from the previous entry )

After the traveler has gone,
the owner of the flower started to feel bored about his tedious life.

Since he was so afraid of making the flower upset that he got used to talking to the other flowers instead.
Or he just kept the words that couldn't be said in his mind.

This flower couldn't move at all.
However, the owner was supposed to like traveling very much.
Therefore, the owner started to plan his exciting traveling again.

And then, one day, during his journey far away from his home, the owner totally forgot the flower and she began to wither day after day.

Just before she was nearly dying, the traveler who was regretted for not picking the flower came back owing to miss her and wanted to see her again.

When he saw the flower, he was stunned and felt sorrowful.
But,.. if a flower is going to die, no one can help even God.
What the traveler could do was to keep her company till the end.

c'est la vie ! ( That's life ! )
Even if you are reluctant, all good things must come to an end.
And that's it.

這個旅人走掉之後,
花的主人漸漸的覺得生活無趣起來。

他開始有一些話不能對花說,
因為他怕花會不開心。
於是, 有些話他只能對別的花說,
或放在心裡悶著。

這朵花哪裡也不能去。
但是, 花的主人本來就是個喜歡旅行的人。
這下子, 他又開始想要冒險旅行了。

有一天, 他出遠門旅行的時候,
忘了給家裡的花澆水。
於是, 這朵花一天一天地枯萎。

就在這朵花快枯死的時候,
前面走掉的那個旅人,
因為想念花朵的關係,
剛好回來看她。

他看到枯萎的花,
心裡覺得非常難過不捨。
但是花要枯萎, 是自然的事, 誰也幫不了忙。

這個旅人只好守在花身邊, 看著她一天一天的凋零。

人生不就是這樣嗎?
即使捨不得, 有些事還是會走向完結。
就是這樣。

その（険しい崖の）花は険しい崖に咲いていました。
通り掛かりの旅人に摘まれたその花は
清らかな水を注いだ花瓶に慎重に挿されて持ち帰られ、彼の自宅に飾られました。

その花は、（あの険しい崖とは違って、）強い風も吹かなければ激しい雨も降らないという環境のせいか、以前にもまして美しく咲きました。

ある日、別の旅人が彼の家の前を通りかかり、その綺麗な花を見ました。
突然、彼はその花を以前にも見たことがあるのを思い出しました。

当時、崖の上で彼はさんざん迷った挙句、その花を摘みませんでした。
突然彼は激しい後悔に襲われました。

なぜ衝動に任せて、崖から飛び降る決心をせず、その花を摘まなかったのですか。
摘んでも、死ななかったかもしれません。
怪我をしても、多分また違った光景を見られたはずです。
おそらく、彼はこの花との間に深い縁がなかったのです。

当時、彼は何としても摘みたいという強い衝動がなかったので、
ほしいものを得られませんでした。
どんな苦情も抱く資格はないのです。

安全な道を選んだからには
我々は多少の代価を払わなくてはなりません。

The Flower on the Cliff (II)

( continued from the previous entry )

After the flower on the steep cliff was picked up by that traveler.
He put the flower in a clean vase with fresh water, and watered it with much care at home.

This flower would never have to endure the storm or the bad weather.
And then it became more and more beautiful.

One day, another traveler passed by and saw how pretty the flower became.
All of a sudden, he remembered that he met this flower before just on that steep cliff.

At that time, he couldn't pick it down due to a little hesitation.
Therefore, he began to feel repentant for doing nothing.

Why didn't he have the impulse to pick it down？ What if he had to take the risk of jumping down from the cliff and probably died for it?
Perhaps he wouldn't die.
Perhaps even though he got hurt, there would be another view to enjoy.
Perhaps they weren't destined to each other and maybe it was the only reason.

If he didn't have any urge for something, he couldn't get what he wanted.
And he shouldn't have anything to complain of.

If we pick up the safer road, we still need to pay the price.

那朵懸崖之花,
之後, 被那個經過的旅人摘下,
放在家裡, 用乾淨的水和瓶子供養著。

這朵花再也不用受到風吹雨打,
然後, 越開越美麗。

有一天, 另一個旅人經過。
看到了那朵美麗盛開的花,
突然想起了他曾見過這朵花。

那時候, 在懸崖上,
這個旅人沒能及時伸出手摘下的那朵花。
他突然間懊惱起來。

當初, 為什麼沒有跳下懸崖的衝動摘下她呢?
也許不會摔死啊 !
也許就算摔下來, 也有另一番風景啊 !
也許是因為他們之間的緣分不夠深吧 !

當初沒有非做不可的衝動,
現在得不到自己想要的東西,
也沒有什麼好抱怨的。

選擇了比較安全的事情,
其實也是要付出代價的。

険しい崖の上に、ものすごく綺麗な花が咲いていました。
道行く旅人は、誰もが その花の美しさに見とれました。
しかし、誰ひとりとして手を伸ばす勇気はありませんでした。

唯一ある男が一生懸命に手を伸ばしていました。
彼は特に果敢なわけではなく、
ただ花を摘まずにはいられなかったのです。
彼は後悔したくなかったのです。

やらなければ後できっと後悔することになるでしょう。
後悔したくなければ
やってみましょう。

The Flower on the Cliff (I)

There was an unbelievably beautiful flower blooming on the cliff.
Every traveler who passed it by admired and exclaimed how pretty it was.
However, no one dared to reach that flower and picked it down.

The only man who desperately stretched his hands and took the flower away was not brave enough to do it.
Rather, he was the one who didn't want to feel repentant for doing nothing.

If you don't do it, you will definitely feel sorry afterwards.
And you don't want to get regretted, then, go ahead.
Just do it.

懸崖峭壁開了一朵驚人的美麗花朵。
經過的旅人們,
每個人都驚訝於她的美麗,
但是, 沒有人敢伸手去摘她。

那唯一不顧一切把手伸出去的人,
不是因為他很勇敢,
而是因為他不摘下那朵花,
他會不甘心。

不做的話會不甘心,
就去做吧~

To Japanese animation, "Millennium Actress"

Millennium Actress has lived more than one thousand years just as if I have been looking for you for more than one thousand years. If there is a curse which can't be solved, I still can recognize you at the first sight.

The play on the stone has been there waiting for me to act it out, but where is the actor?

What can be unlocked depends on the key, but what can't be unlocked is our destiny. Once the lock lost its key, where could I find myself? Do I love you or myself who have been searching for you? When I can't remember what you are like, who on earth do I love?

Youth is a song which is too short to savor; life is so long that it's always made fun of by the promises.

Only by a simple glimpse, the story has come to the end. Even though I had known that I would have never found you again, back to those days and this would be the final answer, there should be something left behind.

Nevertheless, it would be better that you are not found yet so that you are not able to see what I am like now. It'd better end our story in this way. Since even if I am too old to recognize myself, my pretty shadow will still be kept in your eyes.

寫給日本動漫"千年女優"

千年女優活了不止千年, 我找你也不止找了千年。如果有一種詛咒久久存在無法解開, 我, 一定會認出你來。

原來石頭上的故事早就在那裡等著我來上演, 男主角在哪裡？

可以解開的是鎖, 解不開的是命運。掉了鎖的鑰匙, 我要到哪裡找到自己？愛的是你, 還是找你的我自己？當我想不起你的樣子, 我愛的到底是誰？

青春是一首太簡單的歌, 歲月是約定的作弄。

只一眼故事就到了盡頭, 明知道再也找不到你, 再也回不到從前, 這就是最後的結果, 總有什麼要留下的吧!

還好沒找到你, 沒讓你看到現在的我。還好是這樣的結果, 即使我已老到認不得自己, 我仍記得你眼中我曾經的美麗。
