私たちは、何かを選択する理由があるからこそ、その選択を選んだのであり、やらなければならないからではなく、目標を達成したいから選んだのだということを認識しなければなりません。
真の意志は自我を超えて、より高い目的を包含します。それは報酬のために行動するのではなく、行動の正しさ（正義/公正さ）のために行動します。したがって、私たちの意志の行動は私たちを運命へと導きます。それは痛みがないとは保証されませんが、私たちの存在の核心に火をつけることが期待できます。
真の意志には、リスクを負い、そのリスクに対する責任を受け入れる意志が必要です。真の意志を行使して世論に逆らえば、批判や嘲笑、さらには見捨てられる危険を冒すことになります。

While our will is serving, we also must ask what our will might be betraying. Is pleasing others lowering our self-esteem? Is keeping the peace perpetuating negative circumstances that might need to be confronted? Is looking good betraying our honest needs?

True will requires the willingness to take risks and accept responsibility for those risks. If we dare to go against the grain by exercising our true will, then we risk criticism, ridicule, and even abandonment.
真の意志は自我を超えて拡張し、より高い目的を抱きます。真の意志は報酬のために行動するのではなく、行動の正しさ(正当さ/正義)のために行動します。従って、私たちは意志の行動をもって私たちの運命に導かれます。そういう運命は痛みがないとは限らないものの、私たちが存在のまさに核心となっている火をつけることは期待できます。
True will also extends beyond the ego-self and embraces a higher purpose. It does not act for the sake of the reward, but for the rightness (righteousness/justice) of the action. Therefore, the actions of our will take us to our destiny which is not guaranteed to be pain-free, but we can expect it to ignite the very core of our being.
