真の意志 True Will

私たちは、理由があるからこそ、物事を選択したのだと認識しなければなりません。それは強迫ではなく、目標を達成するためです。

We must realize we have chosen to do things because we have the reasons for that choice; we want to achieve our goals, not because we have to.

意志が私たちに役立っている間、私たちは自分の意志が何かを裏切っているのかを自問しなければいけません。他人を喜ばせることは自分の自尊心を低下させているでしょうか？平和を保つことは、対峙する必要があるかもしれない状況で、かえってネガティブな情勢を永続させているでしょうか？見栄えを良くすることは、私たちの正直な要求を裏切っているでしょうか？

While our will is serving, we also must ask what our will might be betraying. Is pleasing others lowering our self-esteem? Is keeping the peace perpetuating negative circumstances that might need to be confronted? Is looking good betraying our honest needs?

真の意志には、リスクを負う意欲とそのリスクに対する責任を受け入れる意志が必要です。真の意志を働き、あえて流れに逆らうと、批判、嘲笑、さらには放棄される危険を冒します。

True will requires the willingness to take risks and accept responsibility for those risks. If we dare to go against the grain by exercising our true will, then we risk criticism, ridicule, and even abandonment.

真の意志は自我を超えて拡張し、より高い目的を抱きます。真の意志は報酬のために行動するのではなく、行動の正しさ(正当さ/正義)のために行動します。従って、私たちは意志の行動をもって私たちの運命に導かれます。そういう運命は痛みがないとは限らないものの、私たちが存在のまさに核心となっている火をつけることは期待できます。

True will also extends beyond the ego-self and embraces a higher purpose. It does not act for the sake of the reward, but for the rightness (righteousness/justice) of the action. Therefore, the actions of our will take us to our destiny which is not guaranteed to be pain-free, but we can expect it to ignite the very core of our being
